How to use Ape Gum to get a Jawline and to improve your facial form and function

Just like any other aspect of fitness, you have to approach facial workouts with consideration. Ape Gum is a hard gum that serves as a facial workout tool. When using this gum, consider intensity, volume, and rest.

Technique Tips

Chew on one side at a time and emphasize a circular chewing motion.

When swallowing, instead of sucking your saliva down with your cheeks, use your tongue properly. Press it against the roof of your mouth and then swallow. This is how you're supposed to do it. Practice this motion as it becomes second nature, and use it every time you eat or drink.

How To Manage Intensity

Intensity refers to how much energy is required to perform a movement. For example, bench pressing 225 pounds is more intense than benching 135 pounds. It is not different for Ape Gum. Chewing harder foods and gums require more exertion and as a result, it is more intense.

You can vary how much intensity Ape Gum requires by varying how many grams you chew at once. For example, chewing 2 grams of Ape Gum for any given amount of time will be harder than chewing 1 gram. This is because as you increase the amount, you increase the viscosity and amount of energy required to manipulate the gum within your mouth.

Theoretically, you could chew as much as you wanted at any given moment, but you still have to be safe. If your maximum bench press is 225 pounds, you're not going to immediately bench 315 the next day because that would be dangerous and risk injury.

Moderate your Ape Gum chewing intensity to maximize benefits and minimize risk.

How to Manage Volume

Ape Gum comes in 10 grams boxes for beginners and 20 gram boxes for intermediates. Each order comes with 3 boxes to last one month. The 10 gram option will allow you to chew 1 gram per day for x amount of minutes, and the 20 gram will allow you to chew 2 grams per day for x amount of minutes.

Vary how many minutes you chew Ape Gum as your face gets stronger and stronger. The longer you chew the more work will be done.

Ape Gum Injury Risk

And just like any other workout, you risk injury when chewing Ape Gum. That is why it is important to vary intensity and volume to minimize the chance of this happening.

The main risk associated with chewing hard foods is temporomandibular joint dysfunction or (TMJ). Causes of TMJ include injuries to jaw, misalignment, jaw clenching, poor posture, and over exertion.

TMJ is more of a problem now because more people have improperly developed faces that are not used to a healthy amount of exertion. The mechanical tension associated with increasing exertion puts stress on a faulty structure.

This issue will not arise in most cases but when it does, it is important to rest and refrain from jaw exertion to let the masseter muscles rest. If you are worried, please consult your orthodontic specialists/ doctors.

Our founder dealt with this issue but he overcame it by chewing regardless of the pain, and eventually it went away. If you want to learn more about his story, please read this article. But it is important to know each case is unique and you are responsible for your own well being.
